HBM Reviews: Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

So, a couple weeks ago, this came out, and I've just been too busy with other shit/lazy to review it. So I'm going to make this real quick.

It's Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, but with X and Y graphics and a bunch of new stuff added. Basically, yet another Pokemon game, which means it's really good.

HBM Reviews Super Smash Bros for Wii U

So, Smash Wii U came out a week and a half ago. Here's just my quick thoughts on it.

It's basically the same as the 3DS version, but with more controller options, modes, controllers, better graphics, etc. So basically, many times better.

Anyway, I'm going to be giving my (semi-late) thoughts on Gotham Season 1 soon.

HBM Reviews: Far Cry 4

Well, this came out last week. And why have I waited until now to review it? A combination of Smash Wii U and laziness. Anyway, Far Cry 4 review is now.

Mario Kart 8 DLC Pack 1

So the first pack of DLC for Mario Kart 8 came out yesterday, and it's pretty dang sweet. I'm just going to go over the content real quick here.

The new characters are Tanooki Suit Mario, Cat Suit Peach, and Link from Legend of Zelda. The new vehicles are the B-Dasher from Mario Kart DS, Tanooki Kart, Blue Falcon from Mute City, and the Master Cycle, based on Epona from Zelda (complete with it's own wheels and glider).

There's also 8 new courses, making up 2 new cups, the Egg Cup and the Triforce Cup. The Egg Cup has GCN Yoshi Circuit, Excitebike Arena, Dragon Driftway, and Mute City, while the Triforce Cup has Wii Wario's Gold Mine, SNES Rainbow Road, Ice Ice Outpost, and Hyrule Circuit.

Overall, this DLC pack is really good. The addition of Link, the Master Cycle, and the non-Mario tracks are pretty cool, and all the tracks are really good. Now I can't wait for the second pack... too bad it's not coming until May...

HBM Reviews: Bayonetta 2

Do you remember Bayonetta? It was a game from a few years ago that can basically be described as "the female-oriented Devil May Cry, plus sex appeal." Well, it proved popular enough that it got a sequel, though it's a Wii U exclusive due to being funded by Nintendo.* How is it, you may ask? Well, that's why I'm reviewing it.

Super Smash Bros for Wii U 50 Fact Extravaganza

So, on Thursday, Nintendo put up a video showing over 50 things in the Wii U version of the new Smash Bros. I'm not going to go through the whole thing, but we were shown 8-Player battles, new stages, My Music, new modes, extra stuff, a trailer for Bowser Jr, and even the announcement that Mewtwo will be playable as DLC in Spring! I don't want to give it all away, but it was an awesome new Nintendo Direct. It definitely revived the hype for Smash Wii U, at least for me.

Hyrule Warriors DLC: Master Quest Pack

So, on October 16, the first pack of Hyrule Warriors DLC was released, the Master Quest pack. And it has quite a bit of content in it. And I'm going to go over that content.

Oh yeah, somewhat spoilers.

HBM Quick Reviews: Super Smash Bros 3DS

So, the 3DS version of the new Super Smash Bros came out last week, and I've been playing the fuck out of it ever since. So, does it hold up to the hype? Well, Just barely.

It's the same gameplay you should expect if you played previous Smash Bros games, just kinda tweaked to be kinda a mix between Melee and Brawl. There's more characters, new modes, and a shitton of trophies.

Overall, I'd have to say it's a little less than I was expecting, but it's only the 3DS version, so I'll let it slide. We only have about a month and a half until the Wii U version comes out, and I really can't wait.

First Few Episodes Of Gotham: My Impressions

Why yes, I do, thank you for ask- oh, that's not what it says...
So, I just watched the first few episodes of the new Batman TV show, Gotham. Before watching, I wasn't sure whether I would like it, but after watching, I can safely say I'm excited for the rest of the series.

HBM Reviews: Hyrule Warriors

So, Hyrule Warriors came out just last Friday in the USA, after the Japanese got to tease us by getting it a month and a half before us. Was it worth the wait? Well, let's see.

20,000 Page Views!

Well, I've finally gotten 20,000 pageviews on my blog! So... that's a thing. Now to wait 3 years for me to get 30,000.

HBM's Thoughts on Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call

So, Theatrhythm's sequel, Curtain Call, came out in America a few days ago. Now, I'm not going to review it, just give my basic thoughts on it.

It's basically the same game as the original, but with much more songs and characters, and more DLC stuff. So that's good. Really there's only one flaw I can think of, and that's that there's NO GOD IN FIRE. But other than that horrendous tragedy, spot on.

Super Smash Bros 3DS Demo: My Thoughts

So, this weekend, Nintendo sent out codes to Club Nintendo Platinum Members for early access to the Smash Bros 3DS Demo. I'm a Platinum Member, so I got the demo code, and I'm gonna give my thoughts on it.

So, the demo only lets you access 5 characters with 4 costumes each: Mario, Link, Pikachu, Mega Man, and Villager. There's only one stage, Battlefield, bothin regular and Final Destination forms. Overall, the gameplay speed feels like it's right in between Melee and Brawl, which is good. Link is more powerful, Mega Man is fun to play, and Villager takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do, he's great too.

All in all, I'd say it's pretty good for a demo. Pretty lacking, I'd say, especially since the menus show all the other starting options, just greyed out (Fucking mocking me with unselectable Little Mac). You can access the Tips screen, so if you want some minor advice, you can check that out. Anyway, I'm even more hyped for Smash 3DS now. Can't wait.

Super Smash Bros 3DS/Wii U Full Roster: My Thoughts

So, you know how a couple weeks ago the Smash Bros roster leak happened? Well, some people have gotten their hands on the japanese version of Smash 3DS, and the leaked roster is actually the full roster!

Not included in pic: Mii Fighters, since you actually have to import one to unlock them.
So, to put it lightly... I am disappointed. I mean, not with the character selection itself. I've seen gameplay of Bowser Jr. and Duck Hunt Dog and they look good, and I've heard Dark Pit is basically a more powerful Pit, but... it's a small roster. I mean, there's clearly room for 4 more characters, and it's just not being used. Not only that, but there are quite a few characters that would have been amazing in Smash, like Wonder Red and Ghirahim, but no, they're thrown to the side for no reason at all.

Now, I have read from a very reliable leaker that there is a heavy possibility of there being 4 more characters available once 3DS is linked with Wii U, specifically citing Mewtwo, Ridley, Dixie Kong, and Chorus Kids, and while I don't think that makes much sense, I'm okay with that if it's the case. I'm just kinda pissed that we aren't getting much more fighters. While I am still hyped for the new Smash, that hype has just rapidly diminished. Though thankfully, that'll make the few weeks until it comes to USA more bearable.

HBM Reviews: Azure Striker Gunvolt + Mighty Gunvolt

So, a couple weeks ago, a game came right the fuck out of nowhere on the 3DS eShop, and it's called Azure Striker Gunvolt. I hadn't even heard of it before the Nintendo Youtube channel posted the trailer. So, I guess I'm gonna review it now, or something...

Smash Bros Newcomer: Shulk Confirmed! (and other things)

Okay, so this week's Smash Bros Pics of the Day were, bad, to say the least. They were all either just menus, or info we already knew. Then, yesterday, Nintendo Japan announced they'd be getting an exclusive 3DS Nintendo Direct, and while some people were excited for a possible newcomer, the rest of us were realistic and expected no such thing from a Japan-exclusive thing.

Well, just goes to show you should expect the unexpected from Sakurai, because we got a newcomer reveal this morning! Now, Xenoblade fans, I'm not into the series, so bear with me here...

Pokken Tournament and Mario Kart 8 DLC

Yesterday, Nintendo dropped some bombshells of news, and I'm here to share my thoughts on them. The first bit of news was the official announcement of a crossover between Pokémon and Tekken, called Pokken Tournament.

It's going to be a Tekken-style Pokémon fighting game. The only characters shown in the trailer are Lucario (who Mega-Evolves at the end) and Machamp, though a leaked image from a while back showed Blaziken as well. Other than that, there's not much info here other than the game is coming to Japanese arcades next year.

This looks like it could be really cool. I'm not really that big into Tekken, but I could see myself getting this. I would think it'll be released internationally on the Wii U at some point.

Smash Bros 3DS Leak: My Thoughts

So, a few days ago, a leaker put up a picture of the supposed "final roster" of Smash Bros 3DS, and, at first, I had thought it was a very well done fake.

Smash Bros: Meta Knight Returns

Sorry I'm late on this one, it's just been so long since a character reveal that it didn't even cross my mind to update the blog about it. Anyway, Wednesday night, Meta Knight was revealed for Smash 4.

He looks even more detailed and awesome now, and I love the armor on his gloves. Also, apparently his Up-B has been nerfed since gliding is removed. That's basically it.

Top Ten Playable Characters I Wanted in Hyrule Warriors

So, Hyrule Warriors was recently released in Japan, and everyone has been extremely pissed about how only the playable characters that had been revealed prior to the game's release are playable. Obviously, we had all been under the impression that we would be getting much more characters. And here are the ten playable characters, hero or villain, I had wanted.

Now, keep in mind, on the official Japanese Hyrule Warriors Twitter Page, they've said they would "continue to support the game post-release with characters, weapons, and stages," so we're most likely getting DLC, and some characters may end up playable, but this is my list based on the game in it's current form.

Hyrule Warriors Nintendo Direct: My Reaction

Well, Nintendo recently announced they'd be doing a Nintendo Direct on Hyrule Warriors one August 4th, which was tonight. Did it show enough new things for us? Did it explain things that were unclear? Only one way to find out...

Leaked Deadpool Movie Test Footage: My Reaction

So, San Diego Comic-Con was last week, and I wasn't really following it. However, it's recently come to my attention that they showed the first footage of the Deadpool movie at SDCC, and some people leaked it online. This movie has been planned since X-Men Origins: Wolverine, with the only major problem I can recall being Ryan Reynolds' shooting schedule. Finally, after years of Development Hell, we're getting our first sneak peak at what a Deadpool movie will be like.

One thing you may notice is that Deadpool almost looks like he was ripped right from his video game from last year. That's because Ryan Reynolds performed motion-capture for this footage, with the suit being the layered over that, also allowing for the mask to actually make expressions, which I think is cool. It won't be like most superhero movies where there's no visible expressions under the mask. Anyway, it's the type of humor and ass-kicking you'd expect from the Merc with a Mouth, and it's awesome to see him in live-action.

Personally, I'd love to see this movie get greenlit. Deadpool has slowly been becoming one of my favorite super-somethings for the past couple years, and with the release of his game last year, the hype for this movie only increased for me! Marvel, Fox, please, make this movie happen! ASAP!

P.S. Within the next week or so, I'll be starting something special. And this time, it won't be like those things I ended up abandoning within a week or so. It'll be legit.

HBM Reviews: Shovel Knight

So, for the past couple years, there's been an Indie game in development that's gotten quite a bit of positive attention. This game is simply known as Shovel Knight, and I've decided to see whether it's lived up to the hype.

Super Smash Bros: FIRE EMBLEM HYPE (also Captain Falcon)

So, this morning, a new Smash Bros trailer was livestreamed, and boy was it a big one! This trailer announced two newcomers and one veteran!

Super Smash Bros Alternate Outfit Speculation

Hey guys. So, for today's Smash Bros Pic of the Day, Sakurai revealed that one of Little Mac's alternate costumes is his jogging suit, which is awesome because he had previously been shown to have a Wire-Frame alternate, and from the E3 footage, his special entrance seemed to be tossing his jacket off. Actually, there are quite a few alternate outfits for these games that have been revealed so far: Skyward Sword Link, Male Wii Fit Trainer, and various alternate Villagers. So, with all these alternate outfits in mind, I'm going to list some alternate outfits for most of the characters revealed so far that I'd like to see.

Aw yeah, I just graduated last night! I'm off to college in September.

And now, here's a picture of my Mii in Tomodachi Life wearing a graduation cap.

I'll be back soon, once I have a laptop again. For now, I'm gonna celebrate. Doin' blow off all the sluts. 420 24/7. (obvious joke is obvious)

EDIT: Well, ended up getting my laptop just a couple hours after posting this. So that's good. Don't have to take that break I mentioned last post.

Very Short Hiatus?

Well, I'm going to have to take a break from blogging soon. It's not my fault, it's because the school's taking my laptop again. Thankfully, this is the last time this will happen, because I'm graduating High School on Thursday (expect a short victory post when that happens. I'll do it from the Wii U). Also, I'm actually getting my own, functioning computer soon, so I'm not going to have to take any more breaks due to stupid shit like this. So, that's that.

Super Smash Bros E3 News: Mii, Palutena, and Pac-Man Revealed

Nintendo was hyping Smash Bros for this E3 as their big seller, and I guess that was the case. I mean, Smash was the biggest game there, so... yeah.

Anyway, I'm not here to hype the awesome. Well, actually, I am, but I'm also here to tell you what was revealed today! Now let's get to it!

HBM Reviews: Tomodachi Life

Well, E3 has started, and I'm hyped as fuck. So, to distract myself a little, I'm going to review Tomodachi Life. I mean, it did come out last Friday, and I've been playing it all weekend. So, yeah.

E3 2014: My Reactions.

So, E3 is starting, and I'm going to be doing what I did last year, where I give my thoughts on all the things revealed this week, updating as E3 goes on. So, let's get to it.

Of course, I'm only doing the things I care about here. This being my blog, and all.

HBM Reviews: Mario Kart 8

So, Mario Kart 8 came out last week, and I've just been sitting here not reviewing it. let's remedy that. This'll be a quick one, because I'm just getting this over with.

So, it's basically Mario Kart Wii (the bikes) and Mario Kart 7 (gliders, underwater, and customization) combined, but also with anti-gravity. So that's cool. The new items are pretty cool, new mechanics are pretty cool, it's what we've come to expect from Mario over the years.

The newest addition is Mario Kart TV, where you can edit and upload replays to the Mario Kart 8 Server, Miiverse, and/or Youtube. So that's cool.

Anyway, Mario Kart 8 is exactly what you would expect if you've played a previous Mario Kart. Meaning you need to get it. Right now.

HBM's Top Ten Mario Kart Tracks

Hello, everyone. As we know, Mario Kart 8 came out a few days ago (and my review will be up soon, probably). And it got me thinking about my favorite Mario Kart tracks. So here's my Top Ten of them. Oh, and each track shown will be it's most recent iteration, since some tracks get brought back.

Super Smash Bros Veteran: Ike Confirmed!

So for today's Pic of the Day on the Smash Bros website, we got a veteran reveal. And it was someone I didn't expect to return: Ike!

For this game his outfit has been changed to a more badass design from his second game, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Ike's reveal makes him the 30th playable character revealed so far.

While I am excited that Ike's returning, considering how strong he is in Brawl, this does make me a little concerned. Could this maybe mean that Chrom from Fire Emblem: Awakening won't join the roster? Or is he an unlockable character? We'll see at a later date. For now, I'm just happy Ike is back. When Smash comes out, it's time for us to fight for our friends.

Dragon Ball Project 2014

So Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods came out back in January, and the general consensus is that it's pretty... "meh." But a new Dragon Ball Z game has just been revealed, currently known only as Dragon Ball Project 2014. Here's the scan showing it's reveal:

Just from this scan, we can't see much, though it does look gorgeous. We can see 4 fight scenes in the screenshots: Goku fighting Vegeta, Super Saiyan Goku firing a Kamehameha at Perfect Form Cell, Super Saiyan Goku punching Full Power Frieza, and another one of Goku fighting Vegeta, with a mysterious new character watching. Nobody knows who this is supposed to be, though he has red spiky hair, a scouter, a scarf, and a jacket just like Trunks', so I would guess it's a custom character, important to the new Story Mode. There are also two stages shown: One that resembles the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, and one that seems to be Namek in a caged area.

So, there's not much info on this yet, since it was just announced, but this looks pretty legit. I might update the blog with any news I find on it, but who knows. When it does come out, it'll be on the PS3, PS4, and XBox 360.

HBM, signing out.

Possible Nintendo E3 Leak?

So, I was messing around on the Smash Bros subreddit, when I came across this picture: a possible leak of what Nintendo plans to show at E3.

Now, I'm not 100% certain that this is legit, considering that it lists the new Smash as just a Wii U game on the console category, Hyrule Warriors was supposed to be a tentative title (and the release date is listed as just a couple weeks after E3; I would think we'd have heard more about it if that was the case), and Metroid 3DS and the new Legend of Zelda don't have true titles. But if this does turn out to be legit, then we have reason to be excited. Smash Bros 3DS being released July 18th, Gamecube games coming to Wii U Virtual Console the day E3 starts, Hyrule Warriors coming June 27, Mario Party on Wii U, Metroid on 3DS, new Star Fox, and info on the new Zelda? Hell yes.

Again, we're not sure at the moment if this is legit, and evidence points it it likely being fake. We'll just have to wait and see. We only have about 3 weeks until E3, anyway.

Top Ten Past Stages I Want In The New Smash Bros.

So a while back, in the Smash Bros Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that there would be past stages returning for the new Smash Bros. And I've been thinking of which stages I'd like to see return. So here's the Top Ten of them I came up with.

HBM Reviews: Kirby Triple Deluxe

Well, another Kirby game just game out a week and a half ago, and I forgot to post about it until now. Well, that's because it's a Kirby game. And Kirby games are incredibly easy, and practically the same. I mean, don't get me wrong, they're good, they just tend to be way too easy. Really, I don't have much to say here, and that's why this is such a short post.

Super Smash Bros: Newest Trophy - Is it a Possible Confirmation?

So, every week, Monday to Friday, ever since the new Smash Bros was first revealed at last year's E3, Sakurai has been posting one picture a day on Miiverse of both versions of the game, similar to the daily updates of the Brawl website. Today's update is... this.

It's a trophy of Wonder Red from The Wonderful 101. Y'know, that awesome game for the Wii U that came out last year that Nintendo barely marketed? The caption on the picture says "Fight! The Wonderful 100!! We also made trophies of some of the other Wonderful Ones."

Of course, just this simple picture is leading to all sorts of speculation. Could it mean the Wonderful 101 are confirmed to be playable? Are they deconfirmed? Are they getting any kind of representation outside of trophies? Why would Sakurai post this picture out of nowhere? We won't know until Nintendo says anything about it. The only thing that we can know for sure is that Sakurai is trolling us, fans or not.

Personally, I'm hoping for a W101 playable character (either Red or the entire group), and if they won't be playable, I would at least hope for an assist trophy and/or stage. At least we know W101 is getting some kind of representation in the new Smash Bros.

Nintendo Direct 4/30/14: Mario Kart 8

Well, Nintendo really decided to let April go out with a bang this year, huh? Their third Nintendo Direct of the month is dedicated to Mario Kart 8, coming out in exactly one month!

I guess they wanted to do different themes for each Nintendo Direct this month. While the Smash Bros Direct was more straight-forward, and the Tomodachi Life Direct was like a newscast, this one is done with the premise of a guy flipping through Mario Kart-related channels. So there are weird commercial-like segments, like Mario Kart Memories (showing epic fail moments) and History of Mario Kart (showing some of the previous MK games). These range from slightly informative to pointless, and tolerable to annoying. But I'm just giving a brief overview of what stuff was shown, so I'm just ignoring all that.

The final three characters were revealed here: Miis (predictable), Baby Rosalina, and Pink-Gold Peach. Baby Rosalina is self-explanatory, and Pink-Gold Peach is basically a Metal Peach. I'm... not sure that should even be a thing. The four new items are Boomerang Flower (throws a Boomerang up to 3 times, it comes back to you), Potted Piranha Plant (chomps up nearby enemies and hazards), Super Horn (creates a shockwave that damages nearby enemies and destroys nearby hazards), and Crazy Eight (similar to the Lucky Seven from MK7). Kart/Bike customization is also returning, with even more options, and there's a new vehicle type: ATVs (All-Terrain Vehicles).

The online mode now has 4 modes: Worldwide, Regional, Friends, and Tournaments. You'll be able to host tournaments whenever you want, customizing all the details, like what date, time, courses, items, etc. You'll also be able to chat on the lobby while you're waiting, both with text and voice chat. Finally, you'll be able to customize your replays and share them on the online mode's Mario Kart TV, as well as Youtube.

Overall, I'm much more excited for Mario Kart 8 after this, considering they're finally giving us new details about the game. It'll be coming out on May 30th, exactly one month from now as I said.

Bleach Manga Update: Gremmy's a Faggot (and more)

So hey, it's been quite some time since I did a post about Bleach, right? So I figure I might as well do that now that the most recent fight seems to be over. Of course, spoilers for the manga up to this point.

Batman Arkham Origins DLC: Cold, Cold Heart

So it's been a while since I've talked about DLC. Well, since the newest Batman: Arkham Origins DLC, Cold Cold Heart, just came out, it's only fitting that I talk about that, now isn't it?

This story takes place a week after the events of the main story of Arkham Origins. Bruce Wayne is holding some awards ceremony at his mansion, when suddenly some goons burst in with Mr. Freeze, demanding the guest of honor. After Bruce takes out some thugs and suits up, he goes after Freeze, but soon discovers he'll need a different suit, and gets a bulkier Extreme Temperatures suit. With this suit, maybe he stands a chance against Freeze...

Really, you only get most of the bottom half of the map to explore, since the bridge is closed. All around, there are also frozen victims you can free, Anarky followers causing riots, and Anarky symbols. Collecting all those shouldn't take too long. The new Batsuit also comes with upgraded Batarangs, which can be charged with heat.

Overall, this DLC is pretty short. You can complete it in a couple hours, there's not much to do after you beat it, but it is good for what it is. I don't know if I'd say it was worth the wait, but I can at least say it's good.

What I Want To See At E3 2014

Hello to all of the people. E3 is going to be happening in about 2 months, and I haven't really heard much about what we should expect out of it this year. So here's my post of some of the games I'm hoping to see there.

HBM's Top Ten PS2 Games

Hello, all the peoples. So, I was playing some HD re-releases on the PS3 the other day, and I began to wonder what my favorite PS2 games are. Well, here's the list I came up with. Like always, it's only games I've actually played.

Nintendo Direct: Tomodachi Life Reaction

Surprisingly, Nintendo has already released a new Nintendo Direct. It's a short one, about a new game called Tomodachi Life. This game was released in Japan last year, and has done so well that Nintendo is bringing it to other countries.

This game takes place on an island with all kinds of activities to do, but there are no characters at the beginning. That's because you have to import your Miis from your Mii Maker plaza to the game. You can customize them quite a bit, giving them their own names, personalities, and even voices (provided by a text-to-speech program, but still, pretty cool). As you populate the island with more Miis, they begin to interact with each other and do more crazy and silly things, like put on a concert, develop relationships (possibly even love triangles), and have really weird dreams. It's almost like a Sims game, but with Miis!

Overall, I'm fairly interested by this. I've been wanting more kinds of games that focus exclusively on Miis, and this looks like a good step in that direction. Tomodachi Life is coming out on the Nintendo 3DS on June 6th. I know I'm gonna get it.

Super Smash Bros. Nintendo Direct: 4/8/14

Hey guys. It's been a while since there's been any Smash Bros news. So of course, when Nintendo revealed that they would do a Nintendo Direct dedicated entirely to the new Smash Bros, we all got hyped as fuck. Let's see if boarding the hype train was a good idea in this case, with an overview of the Nintendo Direct.

HBM Reviews: inFAMOUS: Second Son

"Enjoy your power"
Superpowers are prominent in all forms of media. Whether it be books, TV, movies, etc, chances are you've seen something that has to do with superpowers. And now we have yet another video game about superpowers, inFAMOUS: Second Son. Is the inFAMOUS series getting tired, or is this new title a fresh start for the series? Let's see.

HBM Reviews: Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes

So, after about a year or so of waiting, we finally have Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes in our hands. Does it live up to the hype? Let's see...

Batman: Arkham Knight Sidequest Predictions

It's a good thing Arkham Knight's gonna be the last game. I don't
wanna know how much dirtier Riddler could get.
So, as we all know, Batman: Arkham Knight was officially announced earlier this month. We had known from interviews that Rocksteady had been preparing this game as WB Montreal was focusing on Arkham Origins, so we know it's going to be absolutely bombastic. Now, while many people have been speculating who the major, plot-important villains are (other than who has been revealed), I've found myself wondering what kinds of sidequests we can expect to see in the game. So I've decided to make a small list of possibilities for what we'll be seeing as side quests. Here we go!

HBM Reviews: South Park: The Stick of Truth

"An epic quest to become... cool."
So, this took a while. This game was supposed to come out late 2012, but got delayed because of various bullshit. Has South Park: Stick of Truth managed to live up to the hype? Let's find out.

Batman: Arkham Knight Revealed!

So, you know how, while Batman: Arkham Origins was in development, Kevin Conroy and Rocksteady both mentioned the development of a fourth Arkham game for next-gen consoles? Well, it was revealed today, as Batman: Arkham Knight.

Even though I know this can't be what the in-game engine makes the graphics look like, this is looking to be the most graphically-advanced Arkham game yet, and I have to say, Batman has never looked better in a game before. The game seems to be pitting the criminals against both the cops and Batman in an all-out war, and it looks amazing. From the trailer, we can't see anyone new, though we do get glimpses of Harley Quinn in yet another sexy outfit, Two-Face looking a little more messed up than Arkham City, Penguin looking a bit older, and a voice that I'm fairly sure belongs to Scarecrow. It's being advertised as a finale to the Arkham series, and looks the part. Obviously, this is going to be one of the biggest games of the year.

Arkham Knight is going to be available for PS4, XBox One, and PC later this year (Gamestop's listing the date as October 14th), and if you pre-order, you get Harley Quinn and four exclusive challenge maps. You know I'm preordering ASAP. Obviously, I'll put up a review shortly after the game comes out.

So, a little while ago, I did a Top Ten of my favorite Mario games. Now I'm doing that for Sonic. Pretty self-explanatory.

HBM Reviews: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

"Blood is everything"
Do you remember Castlevania: Lords of Shadow? Yeah, one of the most frustrating games I've ever played. It's probably one of the only games I've played where the story was more engaging than the gameplay. However, Lords of Shadow 2 seemed to promise to fix the frustration factor, making a much better game than it's predecessor.. Did it succeed? Well, let's find out. (WARNING: SPOILERS FOR LORDS OF SHADOW)

HBM Reviews: Strider (2014)

So, last week, Strider suddenly came out with little to no promotion, which I only suddenly learned about while surfing the web. So I ended up downloading it the day after. And now, it's time for a review.

Smash Bros: Diddy Kong Returning

Yeah, so, since Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze comes out today, Nintendo revealed that Diddy Kong is playable in the new Smash Bros. So that's cool.

As for the Donkey Kong Country game itself, I'm not so sure that I'm going to buy it. I mean, I have Donkey Kong Country Returns, and it's a good game and all, but I just don't know if this one's going to capture my interests. We'll see, though.

HBM's Top Ten Mario Games

I like to talk about video games a lot, in case you couldn't tell. And there's not a more iconic video game character than Mario. Everyone, even people who don't play video games, have at least heard of him. And I'm counting down the Top Ten Mario games today.

The only restrictions are: It has to be a game in one of the Mario series (so no Smash Bros or anything like that) and it has to be an official Nintendo game (so no Kart Fighter). Oh, and my usual bullshit that you should know by now. OKAY, LET'S DO THIS THING!

Super Smash Bros. Newcomer: Little Mac Enters the Ring! (and other things)

A while back, I did a list of the Top Ten (non 3rd-party) Newcomers I would like to see in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for Wii U & 3DS, and at the number one spot, I put Little Mac from Punch-Out. And hey, would you take a look at who just got revealed in today's Nintendo Direct?

HBM's Top Ten Boss Battle Themes

A couple years ago, I put up a list of my Top Ten Boss Themes. Unfortunately, there are just so many awesome boss themes that I ended up revising the list every couple weeks and pulled it from the blog. But now, I think I have a good enough list that I will only have to edit it every couple months or so, like the other lists. So now I'm putting this up again. Keep in mind that I'm not including Final Boss themes or Bonus Boss themes.

Sonic Boom Reaction

So, you know how some time back, Sega announced that there would be a new Sonic cartoon called Sonic Boom? Well, recently, the video game of the show, as well as the official designs of the main cast, have been revealed, and, considering how much the internet is blowing up over this, I feel that I should add my own two cents.

HBM's Top Ten Gamecube Games

Hello, everyone. I recently got Wind Waker HD, and I've just been having a blast reliving this already glorious game IN HD! And that got me to thinking of what the ten greatest Gamecube games are. I still had to do this list anyway since I never did it before the Wii one.

Smash Bros Rumor: Possible Newcomer: Palutena?

So, it's been over a month since Rosalina was revealed for the new Smash Bros, and everyone has been getting impatient. And while there have been fake character pics put up, these ones showing Palutena from Kid Icarus look quite legit.

While there is always the extremely high possibility that these have been faked, they look real enough to convince me to give them a chance. Until Nintendo says anything official on the matter, I can't say for certain if they're real or not. Only time will tell...

Top Ten Games of 2014 I'm Most Excited For

2013 is history now. It's 2014, and there are awesome games coming out this year. And I'm counting down the Top Ten of those games now.

HBM's Top Ten Games of 2013

2013 ended about a week ago. And that's good, because we have a bunch of great games coming out this year, 2014. But, that doesn't mean 2013 didn't have any good games. Here are my Top Ten of them.

New Year/Christmas Shit/Upcoming Shit/Zelda in Smash Bros

So, 2014 is a thing now. And it's time for me to do the yearly "shit I got for Christmas" list you don't give half a shit about. This year was actually better than I hoped for, since I got Skyrim Legendary Edition, Castlevania Lords of Shadow Collection, Mass Effect Trilogy, ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection, Metroid Prime Trilogy, a collection of the Burton/Schumacher Batman movies, and a few hundred dollars. Once Gamestop has PS4's in stock again, I'll be using this and my birthday money on one. Of course, there was other minor shit, but who cares about anything other than video games, movies, and money on this blog, amiriteugaizimeansrsly.

So anyway, soon I'll be putting Top Tens of the best games of 2014 and what games I'm most excited for that are coming out this year. Also, Lords of Shadow inspired me to do a Top Ten of the most frustrating bosses in video games, so there's that. I'll try to post more often this year in general.

Also, around Christmas or so, Zelda was revealed for Smash Bros. She has her Twilight Princess design again, and it seems like her moveset has been altered, which is nice. Hopefully we'll be seeing more new characters being revealed soon.
