Pokken Tournament and Mario Kart 8 DLC

Yesterday, Nintendo dropped some bombshells of news, and I'm here to share my thoughts on them. The first bit of news was the official announcement of a crossover between Pokémon and Tekken, called Pokken Tournament.

It's going to be a Tekken-style Pokémon fighting game. The only characters shown in the trailer are Lucario (who Mega-Evolves at the end) and Machamp, though a leaked image from a while back showed Blaziken as well. Other than that, there's not much info here other than the game is coming to Japanese arcades next year.

This looks like it could be really cool. I'm not really that big into Tekken, but I could see myself getting this. I would think it'll be released internationally on the Wii U at some point.

But wait, there's more! Later that night, Nintendo announced 2 DLC packs for Mario Kart 8 coming this November and next May. Both packs will have 3 characters, 4 vehicles, and 8 courses (2 tournaments).

The first DLC pack comes with Tanooki Suit Mario, Cat Suit Mario, and Link from Legend of Zelda as playable racers, 4 vehicles (one of which is the Blue Falcon from F-Zero), and 8 courses (the pictures show an F-Zero course, Wario's Gold Mine from MKWii, and what appears top be an Excitebike course). The second DLC pack comes with the Villager and Isabelle from Animal Crossing, as well as Dry Bowser, as playable racers, another 4 vehicles, and another 8 courses (The pictures show an Animal Crossing stage and a jungle-themed area with an oval-like beginning). Both packs are available for $7.99 USD, or $11.99 USD in a bundle. Also, if you purchase both packs one way or the other, you get 8 new colors for Yoshi and Shy Guy! And finally, you can pre-purchase these great deals right now!

So yeah, yesterday was a huge day for Nintendo news. Hopefully we'll get a Nintendo Direct soon so we can get even more news and hype!

HBM, signing out!
