Smash Bros 3DS Leak: My Thoughts

So, a few days ago, a leaker put up a picture of the supposed "final roster" of Smash Bros 3DS, and, at first, I had thought it was a very well done fake.

The picture shows that, supposedly, the unannounced returning characters are Wario, Mr. Game and Watch, Ganondorf, Falco, Jigglypuff, R.O.B., Ness, and Dr. Mario. The unannounced newcomers shown in the picture are Bowser Jr, the Duck Hunt dog, Dark Pit, and Shulk from Xenoblade. The picture's not 100% convincing, due to the strange order of the characters, some characters being just retarded decisions (Dr Mario? REALLY?!), and the gaps for more characters at the bottom.

The reason for the gap was initially explained as "there's gonna be DLC bro," but later, the leaker said "Nah, I'm just fuckin with ya," putting a nice blemish on the legitimacy of the leak. However, just last night, some more difficult to disprove proof was shown in the form of more pictures and a couple videos.

The pictures show off a bunch of trophies, victory screens, Smash Run, Classic Mode, and a Spectator Mode for Online. The pictures are more detailed and seem much harder to fake than we had thought. Also, the All Star Mode icon is shown to have a lock on it, meaning there are still some unrevealed characters.

The videos are just a couple short clips of Bowser Jr, Ganondorf, and Shulk, and they also look really legit. Bowser Jr fights with his mini-Koopa Clown Car, Shulk seems to have a generic sword-guy moveset, and unfortunately, Ganondorf seems to still be a clone of Captain Falcon.

Now, Nintendo's actions have also proven these leaks to most likely be legit. Nitnendo has taken down all the copies of the leaked videos with copyright claims, and in tonight's Pic of the Day, it was shown that the Final Destination versions of stages are called the "Omega" versions of stages, which was shown in a leaked pic. So the leak is basically 99.9% correct at this point.

What do you think? Are you disappointed with this roster? Do you want more out of Smash? Let me know in the comments.

HBM, signing out.
