Final Blog Update: Kinda Goodbye, I Guess

Well, this took me awhile to stop being too lazy to do.

So, my posts slowed to a crawl back in July when I stopped doing the weekly news updates. I basically got tired of doing that every week, as you can see that I put less and less effort into them as time went on. Basically, I'm kinda burnt out on the whole Blogger thing. I'm not going to post anywhere near as frequently here any more (at most, one or two posts per month), and I'm going to rarely, if ever, review things anymore. Maybe every now and then I'll post a Top Ten, like in the olden days of a few years ago (obviously, Top Ten Games of the Year, and Games of the Year I'm Most Excited For are always gonna happen at the beginning of a year).

Anyway, that's it. Just go to my Twitter for frequent stupid shit.

Metal Gear... SURVIVE?!?!

Army-Man is Konami, the zombie is the fanbase...
Or maybe the other way around
So... Konami has finally announced their first actual video game since MGSV's release last year, and it's yet another Metal Gear game. Okay, I wanted to see how Konami would handle the series without Kojima... turns out they don't know shit about what we want and are giving us a FUCKING ALTERNATE UNIVERSE ZOMBIE GAME called Metal Gear Survive. There's just... so much wrong with this... I don't even...

So, the story here is that, after Ground Zeroes, a fucking portal to an alternate dimension appears, sucks up the remains of Mother Base and the MSF army, and transports them to a universe that is a zombie wasteland. Yes. You read that right. Metal Gear is now 2006-2015 Resident Evil.

Now, calming down and looking at this rationally, this isn't necessarily guaranteed to be the worst thing in the series. It's confirmed to be up to 4-player co-op, which is something that could mix well with MGSV-style gameplay (assuming that's what this game will play like. Considering it seems to have Fox Engine, I'm assuming it will). Hopefully we can customize our characters... and that's as far as my optimism here will go. Snake is confirmed to merely make a cameo. What's a Metal Gear game without a Snake (other than the games with Raiden. Rising is my favorite PS3 game ever)?!

Honestly, I can see this getting cancelled due to fan backlash, and as much as I could understand that... I kinda want to see how this turns out, if only because it's Metal Gear (which they're probably banking on). If it wasn't Metal Gear, I wouldn't have the slightest interest, and there wouldn't be nearly as much backlash, but... it is.

Also, I'm aware this is my first post in a month. I'll address that soon...ish.

HBM News: 7/17/16 - 7/23/16

Once more, it is time for news. Sorry tat it's late, I was out of town. Anyway, here we go.

Street Fighter V: Juri is being made available this Tuesday. Her V-Skill, Kasatsushu, has her rush her opponent, kick them from behind. Her V-Trigger, Feng Shui Engine Type Alpha, allows her to chain all her moves into each other. Her Critical Art, Sakkai Fuhuzan, has her kick out a large, multi-hitting energy wave. Also, Summer Outfits have been confirmed for Cammy, Ibuki, and Laura.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: New screenshots confirmed Android 16, Imperfect Cell, and Time Breaker Bardock (from Dragon Ball Online). Good.

Injustice 2: Wonder Woman and Blue Beetle were confirmed in a new trailer. Wonder Woman is going to have an all new playstyle, rather than the stance system fro the previous game, and Blue Beetle seems to play similarly to Sinestro in the last game.

Sonic Mania: There were 2 new Sonic games confirmed this weekend. The first is a retro-style Sonic game. Sonic Mania has both returning and brand-new zones, lets you play as Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles, and lets you charge a spin-dash in mid-air. It comes to PS4, XBOne, and PC in Spring 2017.

Project Sonic 2017: This is the other Sonic game revealed this weekend. It's made by the same team that did Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. The trailer shows giant robots destroying some city, and after Sonic does some Sonic things, Classic Sonic shows up. So... Sonic Generations 2? This one's coming to PS4, XBOne, NX, and PC in Holiday 2017.

That's last week's news. This week's will be on time, I swear.

HBM News: 7/10/16 - 7/16/16

Once more, it's time for news. And we actually have some this week. It's not much, but it's something.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: There was an interview held earlier this week that revealed, among other things, the story of the original Dragon Ball will not be in the game, every character and outfit from the first Xenoverse will be in XV2 right away, and you'll be able to learn skills from masters at Gohan and Videl's high school. Good.

Nintendo: Nintendo revealed that, on November 11th they're releasing the NES Classic Edition Console. It's a miniature NES that comes with 30 classic games pre-installed (Super Mario Bros 1-3, Zelda 1 and 2, Castlevania, Mega Man 2, Pac-Man, and more), HDMI support, game suspension like the Virtual Console, and a classic NES controller that can even be plugged into a Wii Remote to play NES Virtual Console games. It will be $60, with additional controllers being $10 each, I know I'm getting one.

Street Fighter V: In celebration of the Capcom Pro Tour, a bunch of premium DLC has been released. There's the Ring of Destiny stage, ebing a huge, Pro Tour themed wrestling/boxing ring. There's costumes for Cammy and Chun-Li, with one more being revealed later, and an additional color for every fighter released so far. You can only purchase this content with real money, and only until November. Seems like a waste to me...

Batman Telltale Game: The first episode will be releasing in August. That's it.

So, that's this week's news. Hopefully there'll be more soon.

HBM News: 7/3/16 - 7/9/16

It's once more time for news. Sorry this is a little late, but there wasn't much news last week anyway. So let's just get this over with.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: The pre-order bonuses and special editions were revealed. The pre-order bonuses are a Dragon Ball Super character (most likely Black Goku) and an extra vehicle, Mercenary Tao's Flying Pillar. The Deluxe Edition comes with the season pass and early access to DB Super Future Trunks. The Collector's Edition comes with a Super Saiyan Goku figure, steelbook case, artbook, and game soundtrack. We also learned that Frieza's Race characters can use the Golden Form, and Majins can go into a "pure" form (a recolor of Kid Buu, basically).

See? Not much news. This week's news will be posted on time.

HBM News: 6/26/16 - 7/2/16

Oh hey it's time for more news! There was a decent chunk of news, and I'm just going to go through it.

Street Fighter V: At the beginning of the week, it was announced that Balrog would be released alongside Ibuki and the Story Mode update. His V-Skill lets you dodge into attacks, his V-Trigger lets you do multiple specials in a row, and his Critical Art is a singular, powerful punch. We also got a couple new stages, being the classic SFII Las Vegas Casino, and the Kanzuki Estate Private Beach, complete with a swimsuit outfit for Karin. Juri and Urien's main designs were revealed, and they're actually playable in the story mode. All this was released on Friday.

Pokemon Sun & Moon: A bunch of new Pokemon were revealed this week. There's Bruxish, a fish with big lips; Cutiefly, a bee/fly kinda Pokemon; Drampa, a Dragon Pokemon that kinda looks like Falcor from Neverending Story; Togedemaru, which looks like a fat, gray Pikachu; Tapu Koko, a Hawaiian deity-esque thing; Charjabug, a battery-bug Pokemon; Vikavolt, an electric stag beetle; Komala, a koala; and Rockruff, a Rock-type dog Pokemon. So, yeah.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse: Gogeta and Janeba have been confirmed as playable, after missing out last game. It was also confirmed that custom Saiyan characters can go Super Saiyan 3 this time. And we now know that the game will be coming out on October 25th.

Bioshock: The Collection: This was officially confirmed for PS4 and XBOne. It contains all 3 Bioshock games, with all the DLC, and is coming September 13th.

Batman: Return to Arkham: This was delayed indefinitely. Hopefully they're adding Arkham Origins to the collection, because that would make it more complete to me.

One-Punch Man: For once, I actually have some anime news! One-Punch Man's English Dub has been officially announced, and will begin airing on Toonami on July 16th.

So, that's the news of the week. HBM, signing out.

6/27/2016

HBM News: 6/19/16 - 6/25/16

It is once more time for the news. Since it's post-E3 it was only a trickle of news compared to last week, but it's still more than usual. So, here we go.

South Park: The Fractured but Whole: A little more news was given, specifically that you can be a girl this time. Good, because Stick of Truth didn't.

Street Fighter V: Capcom showed off all the DLC Battle Costumes for all currently available characters (and Ibuki). There will also be some new stages... which are actually previous stages at different times of day. They'll all be available to buy with the Story Mode update.

Shovel Knight: We now know the Specter Knight update will be coming soon. It'll also be coming with one of the other upcoming modes, either Body Swap mode, or 4-Player mode. So, yeah.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2: New features have been revealed; You can "infiltrate" various factions, for example, Frieza's Army, and build your way up the ranks. In the story, the changes made to time are described as more "chaotic," and both of Cooler's forms have been officially confirmed.

Hyrule Warriors Legends: A trailer for the Link's Awakening pack, showing its' new content. Marin is going to be playable, with some kind of... bell weapon, I guess. It can also summon the Wind Fish for special attacks. Linkle is also getting a new weapon, in the for of boots. Are they supposed to be the Iron Boots? I dunno, they didn't specify. And of course, the obligatory Adventure Mode map.

So. that's this week's news. HBM, signing out.

HBM News: 6/12/16 - 6/18/16 (Week of E3 2016)

I'm sorry this post was late, I was busy. Anyway, last week was E3, so most of the news was E3 related. I decided to combine my news post with my usual annual E3 post, because those usually basically end up being news posts anyway. Anyway, time to finally do this news.

Also, as for the conferences, I only watched Sony and Bethesda's. Sony's was almost as good as last years (a 9 as compared to a 9.5), and Bethesda's was solid, but the Dishonored 2 section at the end really dragged on.

6/12/2016

HBM News: 6/5/16 - 6/11/16

Well, it was pre-E3 week, and we ended up getting a lot of news.  So I'll actually get to do a longer post for once. Good.

6/05/2016

HBM News: 5/29/16 - 6/4/16

It is once more time for news. And again, there's not much news. I'm used to it at this point.

Street Fighter V: So, a character was supposed to be released this week... but wasn't. It turns out, Capcom delayed the character that was supposed to come out this month so they;re now coming out with the Cinematic Story.

As for the character them-self, it's Ibuki. She now has a schoolgirl outfit with ninja armor as her default costume. Her V-Skill is a charge-able burst wave that can push the opponent away, her V-Trigger is a bomb that can be used to do OTG combos, and her Critical Art has her launching the opponent in the air, and using... a Rasengan, I guess. Also, she's going to come with a "new" stage, Daytime Kanzuki Estate, basically a daytime version of the pre-existing Kanzuki Estate stage.

Pokemon Sun & Moon: So, the player characters designs were revealed, along with confirmation that you can customize yourself again. The professor was revealed, Professor Kukui, who's a total dude-bro. His assistant is Lillie, a blond girl described as "mysterious." One of your character's friends is Hua, a tan kid that loves food. You can scan QR codes to discover Pokemon. There's a new Pokedex type for Rotom, and the legendaries were named/typed (Solgaleo, Psychic/Steel & Lunala, Psychic/Ghost).

Shovel Knight: We got some news regarding upcoming DLC, specifically that King Knight and Specter Knight modes are in development, and the Gender Swap mode will launch alongside one of those.

So that's this week's news. Let's hope for some more soon.

HBM, signing out.

5/29/2016

HBM News: 5/22/16 - 5/28/16

Once again, it's time for news. And nce again, we barely got any. I'm not surprised at this point.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven: The demo is now out in Europe and America. it has the first chapter of Story Mode, as well as a very limited Versus Moe with 4 characters (Jotaro, Kakyoin, P4 Josuke, Okuyasu) and 1 stage (Morioh). Also, we got confirmation that all the DLC will be free in the west. So that's good.

BlazBlue Central Fiction: We already have confirmation of this game coming out this winter in America, for PS3/PS4. Even though it's not even out yet in Japan. You see, Bamco, THIS is how soon in advance you announce this shit!

That's it for this week. Hopefully there's more next week. I wouldn't bet on it, though.

HBM News: 5/15/16 - 5/21/16

Once more, it is time for the news. We actually got a nice amount of news this week, so I get to do a page break for once.

5/15/2016

HBM News: 5/8/16 - 5/14/16

We got a little news this week. Not much though. Let's get it on.

Pokemon Sun/Moon: We actually got a trailer showing gameplay. The new region is Alola, which seems to be based on Hawaii or something like that. This time around, the 3D character models aren't chibis, they're of official art proportions. The starters are Rowlet (Grass/Flying type, a fat li'l owl), Litten (Fire type, a black and red cat), and Popplio (Water type, a blue sea lion). The legendaries were also revealed: a lion for Sun and a bat for Moon. The games are being released 11/18/16.

Hyrule Warriors Legends: The Wind Waker Pack is coming out May 19th. At least, in Japan.

That's it this week. Hopefully more next week.

HBM, signing out.

5/09/2016

HBM News: 5/1/16 - 5/7/16

So, there wasn't much news this week that I cared about. Another short post. Wheeeeee.

Mighty No. 9: The new release date has finally been announced: June 21. So at least I'll be occupied while waiting the week leading up to Eyes of Heaven's release.

Nintendo: So, Nintendo revealed their E3 plans this year... and it's a fucking travesty. It's literally nothing but a demo of Zelda Wii U/NX. No digital presentation, no other games. Just Zelda. Fucking horrendous.

Pokemon Sun/Moon: We'll be getting new info on these game on Tuesday.

That's it for this week's news. Hopefully more soon.

HBM, signing out.

5/01/2016

HBM News: 4/24/16 - 4/30/16

Yet another news post. We didn't get much news this week, so it's yet another short post.

Nintendo NX: Nintendo revealed that it's coming out in March 2017. They'll be revealing the NX at E3, and at the moment, only have one game for it. So... yeah.

Zelda Wii U: Exactly as I predicted, the game we know very little about got delayed, yet again. It's now going to also be an NX title, and will apparently be Nintendo's only playable game at E3... weird but ok.

Street Fighter V: Guile came out on the 28th.His alternates are his classic outfit, and a similar outfit to his normal, but with different shades. Also, they fucked up and named his Flash Kick "Somersault Kick." Good.

Final Fantasy VII Remake: There are rumors for the release dates, basically saying Part 1 is coming 2017, Parts 2 and 3 in 2018, and a full bundled version in 2019. I think that's believable.

That's the news of this week. Hopefully we actually get more news soon.

HBM, signing out.

4/25/2016

HBM News: 4/17/16 - 4/23/16

Once more it is time for news. We actually got a decent amount of news this week, so this post actually warrants a page break for the first time in a couple weeks. Goody.

4/18/2016

HBM News: 4/10/16 - 4/16/16

Once more, we have news. Not much this week, so it's a short post again.

Final Fantasy VII Remake: They mentioned they may add characters and areas from the FFVII spin-offs. I'm personally hoping Genesis appears as a secret boss, in his own secret dungeon.

BlazBlue Central Fiction: They finally confirmed that Central Fiction is coming to PS3 and PS4. The first console-exclusive character is Es, form the spinoff XBlaze: Code Embryo.

Nintendo NX: There are some rumors about the NX going around. First, there may be some games being ported from Wii U to NX for launch, specifically Super Mario Maker, Splatoon, Super Smash Bros, and Zelda Wii U. Second, the NX may have a screen controller, like the Wii U. Finally, Luigi's Mansion 3 may be an NX game.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: The first OVA of the new anime has been confirmed, and it's Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe, fittingly enough, as Part 4 just recently started.

That's the news of the week. HBM, signing out.

4/10/2016

HBM News: 4/3/16 - 4/9/16

Once more, it is time for the news. I didn't see much news this week, so let's get this overwith.

Final Fantasy VII Remake: The director of the remake clarified for those of us one the fence about the remake that each part of the game will be as big as a Final Fantasy XII game. I don't know exactly how much of a good thing that is, but... ok?

Legend of Zelda Wii U: There are a few rumors floating around right now. Specifically, you can choose Link's gender, the game will also release on the NX, and there will be full voice acting. Though they are just rumors at the moment.

The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth: The Playstation versions of Binding of Isaac: Rebirth got an update to prepare for Afterbirth's release, complete with a small set of trophies. Tyrone even tweeted that it'll be out within 31 days, or something like that.

That's the news of the week...

HBM, signing out.

HBM News: 3/27/16 - 4/2/16

So, we got a nice amount of news this week. Sorry that this post is late, but the internet at my house is down right now. Anyway, time to do this.

3/27/2016

HBM News: 3/20/16 - 3/26/16

Once again, it's time for news. We didn't get much news this week, so it's gonna be short post. Let's get on with it.

Nintendo: There was a rumor going around that Nintendo would be stopping production of the Wii U and revealing the NX this year. They denied the rumor... at least the Wii U part. We know they want to get the NX into our hands ASAP.

Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth: The console release of Afterbirth was teased by both Edmund McMillen and Tyrone Rodriguez on Twitter this week. Supposedly, it's coming soon, hopefully in April.

Street Fighter V: We got some slight updates on the first update. Challenge Mode and the new online options are coming out on Monday, while Alex and the DLC shop are coming on Wednesday. Zenny, the purchasable money, won't be available yet, so to compensate, all players get to use DLC characters for free as a trial until Zenny is implemented. Also, Ryu and Chun-Li's story costumes will be free for a little while, and Season Pass owners will be getting a new stage soon.

Hyrule Warriors Legends: The character coming with the Link's Awakening pack was confirmed to be Marin. Nintendo said it on their Twitter, and shared concept art.

So yeah, that's the news of the week. At the end of this week, 2 great anime start, so I'm looking forward to that.

HBM, signing out.

3/14/2016

HBM News: 3/6/16 - 3/12/16

HBM Reviews: Project X Zone 2

Xiaomu: This is quite the party we have here. Good thing it can't get any bigger.
Reiji: Of course not, that'd be ludicrous.
Hey guys, I know this is kinda late, but it took me longer than expected to beat this game. But finally, the review is here.

Back in 2005, Namco Bandai released a strategy RPG for the PS2 title Namco X Capcom. It had an original plot that involved multiple Namco and Capcom video game series crossing over to stop a combined threat from their villains. It was a moderate success, but was unfortunately never released outside Japan. Then suddenly, in 2012, Namco announced a spiritual successor/sequel to NXC, titled Project X Zone. This time, it also featured Sega characters, and used more widely popular characters than NXC did. At first, it seemed like this game wouldn't be released worldwide either, but through the efforts of the fans (and Katsuhiro Harada, director of the Tekken series), it was localized a year later, though unfortunately, with some songs cut due to licensing issues. Project X Zone's international success was actually so much so that Namco Bandai stated a sequel could happen.

Lo and behold, 3 years later, here it is. Project X Zone 2 was announced at the beginning of 2015, and this time, was immediately confirmed for international release. Boasting a lineup of even more internationally popular characters, and no cut music this time, it seems to be aiming more at us westerners than anything. Does the sequel live up to the original? Let's see.

3/07/2016

HBM News: 2/28/16 - 3/5/16

It is, yet again, time for news. We actually got quite a bit of news this week, mostly from the Nintendo Direct on Thursday, though like usual, I'm only posting about stuff I personally care about. Let's get on with it,

Mortal Kombat X: The XL update was released this week, and with it, we learned of a 3rd stage fatality, for The Kove. With this one, a Kraken-esque creature slams the loser around the pier for a bit, then drags them underwater, until their head and arms are severed... somehow. A decent stality.

Sony: The Playstation Store for the PSP is going to be shutting down at the end of the month. Makes sense, as the system basically died when the Vita came out. Still, kinda sucks.

Uncharted 4: So, Uncharted 4 has been delayed yet again, to May 10th. Even though Naughty Dog said it's basically done at this point. They're saying it's to make sure enough copies of the game are produced to meet demands. Sure, ND, whatever you say.

Nintendo: There was a Nintendo Direct on Thursday, focused on the Wii U and 3DS summer lineup. Read my thoughts on it, and what was discussed in it, here.

So, that was this week's news. My review on Project X Zone 2 will be up by Thursday night.

30,000 Page Views!

Yup, the blog has reached 30,000 page views. Not an amazing amount, but hey, it's another 10k. Let's see if we can hit 50k by 2018.

Also, Project X Zone review will be up the middle of next week. Took a bit longer than expected to beat the story, so I'm sorry about the delays.

Nintendo Direct: 3/3/16

So, there was a Nintendo Direct today. Unfortunately, there wasn't much I really cared about. So, here's what I actually paid attention to.

2/29/2016

HBM News: 2/21/16-2/27/16

Another week, another bit of news. We didn't get much this week... even though we got a Nintendo Direct. Whatever, let's get this over with,

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2: You remember that cool little MegaMan-esque game, Azure Striker Gunvolt, from a couple years ago? Well, from out of nowhere, they're making a sequel. From the trailer, it looks extremely similar to the first game. The main character has a new design, and that's really all we know at this point. A nice little surprise.

Super Smash Bros: So, Sakurai recently said, he actually wants Geno from Super Mario RPG to be playable in Smash. I guess he was made a Mii Costume because they could only have one Square-Enix owned character. So, you Geno fans, get hype for Smash 5!

Pokemon: We got a Nintendo Direct for Pokemon's 20th anniversary... and it was literally 6 minutes, half of which was devoted to a video showing fans. Amazing. Also, the next generation, Pokemon Sun/Moon was announced... but they were leaked the day prior, so there was no surprise. Really the only "news" from that Direct was that Red/Blue/Yellow were made available on Virtual Console the next day (2/27), and support the Pokemon Bank app. Kinda disappointing.

Mortal Kombat X: From a recent trailer showing off Alien, we saw that some existing stages are have Stage Fatalities added to them. I mean, we already knew The Pit had them, but now we know others are too. Anyway, the Refugee Camp stage has soldiers in the background shooting the loser to pieces. Pretty cool.

So, that's the news for the week. I honestly can't think of how to close out this post, so... yeah.

HBM, signing out.

HBM Reviews: Street Fighter V (Initial Release)

"This is the path... of my destiny!"
It's been a while since my last review, hasn't it? Well, I finally have some brand new games, and I'm ready to review! Unfortunately, the Project X Zone 2 review has to wait until next week, because Chapter 26 is the lovechild of Hitler and Satan... but I digress.

Back in 2007, Capcom surprised gamers everywhere by finally announcing Street Fighter IV. Considering the last Street Fighter game was Third Strike back in 1999, there was much rejoicing. Now, Street Fighter can be considered the face of modern Capcom, and almost a decade after this amazing announcement, we now have Street Fighter V. With the promise of returning fan-favorites, a new gameplay style, and being the first Street Fighter game with a full-fledged story mode, does this game live up to the hype? ...The short answer is, unfortunately, no. Read on for the long answer.

2/21/2016

HBM News: 2/14/16-2/20/16

Another week, another news post. I got 2 games that I'm currently playing to write reviews of, and at least one of them will be up this week. However, this post isn't about that, it's about the news of the past week, which there was a decent amount of. So let's get started.

2/14/2016

HBM News: 2/7/16-2/13/16

Once again, time for news. Not much this week, but who cares. Let's get on with here.

Pokken Tournament: It was announced that all amiibo are going to be compatible with the game, and they're used to unlock items. So, that's a thing,

Super Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS: Sakurai announced that the games; development is 100% complete, for good. So, no more DLC, no more balance updates, and Sakurai's taking a nice long vacation.

Street Fighter V: We actually got a bunch of Street Fighter news. The first DLC character released will be Alex, in March. There will be 1 character released per month, except June, which is when the Cinematic Story comes out. Characters will cost 100,000 Fight Money. The game will support arcade sticks from the PS3 games, though you'll need a Dualshock 4 connected to allow it. You unlock alternate outfits by beating the character stories and buying them in the store. Survival Mode will have four difficulties (Easy, Normal, Hard, and Hell), you use points to get power-ups, and you get alternates colors for beating Survival. Finally, Battle Tips, Trials, and the Store will be coming in March as a free update,

Sonic the Hedgehog: An official Sonic movie was announced by Sega. It will be a Live-Action/CG mix, is being co-produced by Sony, and is scheduled to come out in 2018. So, that's cool.

So, that's the news of this week. Hopefully we get more news next week.

HBM, signing out.

2/07/2016

HBM News: 1/31/16-2/6/16

It's time for the news once again. We didn't get much news this week. Let's get it over with.

Super Smash Bros for Wii U & 3DS: The final DLC was released on February 3rd. In my opinion, Corrin is the 3rd best DLC character, while Bayonetta is the 5th best, though I just have to get used to her. Also, one of the Fire Emblem Fates songs was added to the 3DS version as a Smash Run song, which Sakurai didn't mention in the Final Presentation, so that's a pleasant surprise.

Mother 3: There's a rumor going around that Mother 3 is going to finally be released internationally this year. Apparently, a reliable leaker dropped a couple hints about it, so that's why this is a thing.

Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD: Some videos were put up showing a couple changes to the game. Now the Wii U gamepad's motion controls can be used to aim, you can manage the inventory and see the map with the gamepad's screen, and the Ghost Lantern item was revealed to help you find Poes.

So that's the news we got this week. Maybe later this week I'll post a Top Ten, or maybe even a review, depending on how soon I beat the game.

HBM News: 1/24/16-1/30/16

The end of January has come, and we got a decent amount of news this week. So, last post of the month, let's go.

HBM News: 1/17/16-1/23/16

It's once again time for news. We actually got a fair bit of news this week, so that's cool.

HBM News: 1/10/16-1/16/16

Another week, another news post. This week, we actually got quite a bit more news than usual, so that's always good.

First of all, while I haven't really talked about real-world deaths, and would prefer not to, I have to call attention to the deaths of David Bowie and Alan Rickman. Both were 69 years old, and both died of cancer. They were both great people that did amazing things, and they will be sorely missed.

Anyway, now that that's over with, onto better news.

HBM's Top Ten Games of 2016 I'm Most Excited For

So, it's now 2016, and there's quite a few awesome-looking games coming out this year. And like every year, I'm counting down the Top Ten that I'm looking forward to.Thankfully, unlike last year, there are more games that caught my eye for this year, so let's get to it.

HBM News: 1/3/15-1/9/15

It's once more time for news. Again, we don't have much news this week, but what the hell, gotta do this.

Pokken Tournament: New playable characters are going to be confirmed on Friday, the 15th. So, that's a thing.

Square-Enix: So, in 2014, Square-Enix opened up a subsidiary company called Shinra Technologies, which was focused on cloud technology. Square announced this week that, last month, they closed Shinra.

Aaaand that's it for this week. Let's hope we get more news soon.

Super Mario Bros Z Reboot Episode 1: My Thoughts

Well, it's finally here. As I said in a previous post, the creator of the Mario/Sonic crossover series Super Mario Bros Z, AlvinEarthworm, has decided to redo this amazing series from the ground up, and this first episode doesn't disappoint! You could definitely say that an episode of this quality was worth waiting for, and I'm going to go over why!

In these posts, I'm going to be giving a summary of the events of the episode, comparing it to the original series (at least, until the reboot catches up to the original), and talking about specific note-worthy changes and gags. For those of you who haven't watched the original series, I'll try to keep possible spoilers to a minimum, and I recommend watching the original Super Mario Bros Z series (you can watch it on various Youtube accounts, or AlvinEarthworm's Newgrounds account). Any way, onto the episode.

HBM's Top Ten Games of 2015

Well 2015 has come and gone. There were some really great games, but a bunch of the ones I got ended up being just mediocre. Either way I'm giving my Top 10 Games of 2015 here.

Quick side note: Just like my Top Ten Games of 2015 I Was Most Excited About, I'm breaking my own rule about not including re-releases, for 2 reasons: #1. This year was the first time they were released in America, and #2. I didn't play much new games from 2015 yet. Even once I have and I update this list, I'm probably going to keep the re-releases. Anyway, onto the list itself.

HBM News: 12/27/15-1/2/16

Happy late new Year! So, again, we didn't get much news this week. I'd expect we may get a Nintendo Direct in a couple weeks or so, but for now, we don't have much to talk about. Whatever, let's get on with it.

Street Fighter V: So, the DLC Characters are apparently still in the "conceptual" stage, and are likely to be released every 2 months or so.

Final Fantasy XV: It's confirmed to be releasing this year. So... that's a thing.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Eyes of Heaven: It's been confirmed that, other than the DLC missions, there's no plans for more DLC. That's pretty sad, to be honest.

That's all the news of the week. Let's hope for more this coming week.

HBM, signing out.
